1981-1988: Assistant and Associate Professor, Okayama Shoka University.1988-2005: Associate Professor and Professor of University of Marketing and Distribution Sciences(UMDS). 1996-2000: Dean, Nakauchi Business School, UMDS. 2005-now: Professor of IBA.
His recent main research themes are to analyze the characteristics of Japanese hospitality, Omotenashi and the conflicting relationship between marketing and Japanese Eigyo system.
